Interviews with Difference Makers

YWCA of Canberra, 80 years of making a difference
Interview with Rebecca Vasserotti, Executive Director of the YWCA of Canberra. In 2009 YWCA of Canberra received an ACT International Women's Day Award recognising its contribution to the Canberra community. Plus 2009 is the Y's 80th birthday. A history of the organisation titled A Work in Progress, was published and launched in December. Rebecca talks about some of the ways this community organisation has made a difference and why it is important for staff to be part of an organisation with strong values linked to a world membership movement. This history provides an excellent case study of how an organisation adapts to changing circumstances so that it remains relevant, viable and sustainable into the future.
Colin Slater OAM, Founder of Sing Australia
Two-part interview with Colin Slater OAM, accomplished singer and singing teacher. In part one Colin talks about his contribution to drought-affected areas and how he has grown Sing Australia, established in 1985, from a seed of an idea into an Australia-wide network of choirs. In part two he explains the value of contributing to thousands of community events each year, why singing is good for us and his big plans for the fuure.   NEW
